The Searchers

"Oh, don't worry Kaylee. I'll end up making it worse before you do." With that, he reached round to hold the bandage on his shoulder himself so he could get back to his feet. When he got up, because of the blood loss, he staggered about a bit. "I'm ok, I'm ok. First things...last, I've dropped my sword." Ideally, he should be heading off to find the doctor, but this was far from the worst injury he's had, so he figured it could wait a minute. He slowly made his way over to where he left his sword. He had to let go of the bandage in order to pick it up. It felt a lot heavier and was far more awkward to get it in its sheath what with the one good arm. "Now then. If the doctor won't come to the patient, the patient will go to the doctor," he begun to stagger towards the ally which would let behind the warehouse.

[Haven Tam]

Haven looked at the guy. Smiling she nodded. “yeah. Haven. You?” Haven wasn’t normally like this. But this was family-family comes first to her. You mess with her family you’re messing with her. She noticed the wandering eyes. “And your eyeballs can stay in your head.”

Looking at the guy she hit, she leaned into the wall. “Now two options. One, you tell me where my uncle is and we won‘t harm you anymore.” She ticked off one finger. “Or two you don’t tell us and we find him ourselves and you have to deal with all of us.” She ticked off a second one. All she wanted was Mal back home, where he belonged. With Inara if he ever got his head out of his butt.

Kaylee grabbed Simon’s back, shaking her head. Motioning to Jayne to follow, she ran after Vincent. “Vincent, at least be careful.” Kaylee sighed, coming up to the ally and seeing what her daughter had done. ‘Oh my…” What is up with my daughter? One thing was for sure, they weren’t going out on another job until they were plenty old enough.

James caught the pistol and looked it over, and put it in his left hand, when he heard Havens orders he quickly saluted and said "Yes Mam!" but not long after he realized he was no longer in the military, and Haven was not really a 'superior officer' but he still would listen. "Come on Daniel." James started walkin toward the door, but hearing Gene say what he said, James felt like he could just sock him, but he was in a hurry, and needed to see if Mal was in the warehouse. James walked into the Warehouse, but not goin to far from the door, he needed to make sure Daniel would be ok.

Dave got up and s[rinted over to the others by the doorway after glancing at vincent, he heard them talk about sweeping the warehouse and immediately said "I'll join you." and drew his pistol, fiting a supressor onto that aswell, and swung his rifle onto his back. Racking the slide, he followed Daniel inside.

Simon

Simon watched as they took down the sniper, and as Daniel went into the warehouse, followed by dave, he asked Haven "You got a grip on things, Haven? I think Vincent needs some help. you wouldnt mind if i went?" and with that, he rushed off to help vincent. He dropped to his knee's besides vincent and Kaylee, and lloked at the wound, he took a couple of seconds to realise how well it had been cleaned and he took what looked like a spray can, and placing the nozzle just inside the wound, he warned vincent "You know this is going to hurt like hell, right?" before pressing the button, the protein-polymer filling the wound and stopping the bleeding before expanding slightly and drying. He prepped a small morphine injector and asked Vincent if he wanted it.

Daniel turned to the two that joined him, "Ok, James, why don't you and Dave check upstairs while I check things out down here." Daniel didn't like the fact that it felt as though he was being escorted and by the two people that have dropped hints that he needed it. He just want to get them away from him for 5 minutes. He walked off and checked one of the rooms in at the back.

"Haven? Bit of a girlie name for one such as yourself?" Gene grinned to himself. With the way she was behaving, Gene was have guessed that she had a boys name which could also have been a girls name. "Names Gene, and don't flatter yourself. I prefer someone not so young, and a bit less scrawny."

He looked back to the man on the floor and crouched down next to him, "Back to you sunshine. Now, you've been given two choices. Personally, I hope you choose the second one cause I would like nothin' more that to string you up by your knackers." There was nothing Gene liked more than to threaten mutilation to another bloke's man hood. It was always the best way to get information.

Vincent finally managed to find the rest of the group, "Excuse me. When one asks for assistance from a doctor, one would usually expect a certain level of promptness from afore mentioned doctor. So please, help me out.....I feel dizzy." The bloodloss wasn't all that extensive but it was enough to make him feel a bit light headed. He fell back and sat on the ground. The doctor began to do his work, he yelled out in pain when he applied the bandage. Vincent took deep breaths to calm himself down and to help distract him from the pain. "No, no morphene, not right now. Where is that sniper? I wanna shoot that liou coe shway duh biao-tze huh hoe-tze duh ur-tze."

James walked around and didn't like it when Daniel told him what to do, but he didn't care for now. As Daniel walked away, James shoved him jokingly, "Alright get goin. Have fun!" James grinned, this was the first time he could joke around since back on Ariel, about 12 years ago. James walked up stairs getting what little immaturity out, he was able to concentrate. He walked into the first door on his right, and he could tell that someone was, or at least had been in there very recently, but most likely it was just the sniper. He kept searching the room for any sign of Mal.

David wandered into a room a far sight larger than the rest, with drainage holes on the floor, he could've sworn he could taste blood in the air, so heknelt down by a drain cover and opened it up, surely enough, on the underside it was blood-stained, he muttered to himself "dont mean nothin." before standing back up and shining his flashlight around, sure enough, in the midle of the room was a wooden chair with a few piles of rope around it, "now that just might mean somethin" he muttered to himself again as he walked over.he checked his micro-core-tex communicator, but there wasnt a signal, "OK, that IS strange..." as he walked back out the way he had come in. When he got back outside, he saw the new guy holding up the sniper again, bu just looked away. he walked over to Vincent and whispered "Theres a large room in there with drainage holes, i checked the undersides of em and there stained with blood, pretty fresh too since the room stinks of it, now, this by itself might not mean much, but the chair in the middle of that rom with the cut ropes just might."

Simon

Simon finished the bandage, ignoring vincents quip about being late, "I really would suggest you take something" he said, but just took a small bag of Blood and, taking the small cord fromt he bottom, placed an IV before hooking it up and atatching it to his upper arm underneath his Jacket sleeve. "Hey, atleast i can still remember your blood type." As Dave came over, he heard the words "Blood stained" and almost asumed the worst before shaking the image out of his head. He said to vincent "Theres a guy with Haven and Daniel, hes got the sniper pinned up against a wall, the shot you heard was Haven shooting the sniper in the foot. but you might want to get over there soon, i dont trust the new guy. He seems cruder than Jayne..." he drew off at that point, glancing over his shoulder. Standing up, he looked at Kaylee, he simply said "Nice job kaylee." and kissed her, before offering to help Vincent up and across to the others.

[Haven Tam]

Haven shook her head at James, laughing slightly. “Wow, are you are something.” Watching James, Daniel, Dave go in, she hoped there weren’t anymore shooters and that Mal was in there. Nodding at her father, she turned back to the two gentlemen. She was all set. Vincent’s pain sent a shot of fear through her though.

Shaking Gena’s hand, she laughed. “I’m named after the place a friend of our’s died.” They had died because of the Alliance trying to hide their secrets. She heard the man squeal and say something about

Kaylee watched Simon help Vincent. She felt a little distant form all of this, so she stepped away. Watching her daughter, something different was over in her eyes, but behind that was love. She was worried about Mal, they all were. The shot on the man’s foot was pretty good, Haven was learning well.

Watching Vincent stand up, she was weary on if he should be jumping in like this so early. “I do the best I can. I’m good with machines, not people.” She kissed the tip of Simon’s nose. “You should check that guys foot, if the new one lets him down.” She didn’t like having anyone cruder then Jayne around her kids. Jayne could sometimes control himself around them, but she couldn’t control this new one.

Jayne followed Kaylee to where everyone was. “I taught my niece well.” His chest swelled up with pride as he saw her shot and attempt at interrogating. Following the boys in, he went with Daniel. They were drag marks from feet and two set of footprints on either side of them. “Wait a minute, there’s two people how took him.” And one looked to be a woman.

Getting that thought out, he looked around. “We should look for any fake doors.”

Daniel turned round to find Jayne follow him in. He was a little suprised but actually quite relieved that it wasn't one of the other two. "Oh, Jayne. I'm glad its you. That James is really starting to get on my nerves. He seems to be convinced that I'm unable to look after myself and its really bugging me."

Daniel was a little shocked at Jayne's revealation although it shouldn't really have been unexpected. "Two people? Can we follow their tracks?"

"Well, that’s always a handy bit of knowledge to know, the origins of a girls' name." Gene replied sarcastically to Haven's comment about her name. "Right now, all I care about is bringing these scumbags to justice," he turned back to the sniper, "and I will bring them to justice in whatever manor I see fit." He saw a man come out of the building, “So, that captain of yours inside or what?”

Vincent joked at Simon's remark about his blood, "Oh, the day you forget the type of blood I need will be the day the whole verse comes to an end." Vincent accepted Simon's help and he whispered to Dave when he told him when he found, "ok, go back to the room and set the chair up over the drain. While your there make sure there's still enough rope to tie someone up." He did a quick glance over to the sniper on the floor, "If he hasn't said anything.....he's basically gonna regret not doing so."

Vincent turned back to Simon and Kaylee, "Come on guys, you know me better than this......Let me ask you this. What would you rather have, a leader that's in near constant pain or one that completely off his head on drugs?" He tapped his forehead a couple of times, "Think about it." He went over to Haven and the man who he over heard as being called Gene, "Captain's not there. I'm Vincent. I'm in charge. And I hope you two have found out something useful."

As James finished searching the room, he felt as tho that searching here was wasting time. He could tell that someone, or even multiple someones had been there there, but this place looked as if it was way to open, it didn't even look like anyone was trying to hide the fact that they where there, like it was just a distraction. "Ai ya!" James turned and punched the solid brick wall. He couldn't believe he thought that they would hide in the same building as the sniper, let alone the same block. James took off running down the stairs, only using two of them, and jumping the rest of the way. He landed, and did a roll, right in front of the door. James opened the door, and slid outside. James was huffing and puffing "Interrogate him please, I'll be right back... I need a birds eye view for a minute." James took off running at the nearby warehouse, and took three steps up the side, and then jumped up toward the warehouse where the sniper had been found running out and grabbed a drain pipe, and started climbing to the top. James knew he could get up through the building, but this was so much more fun!
