Lookign For A Ship

Bella followed River around. She tried to absorb everything and for now, this will have to do until she has some time to rest. Looking around for the ship she replied to River, “Ok. I want to meet this Mal first and then I’d like to go get my stuff. I have to finish paying for my room is all and I’m set.” Grabbing one arm with her hand, she pinched herself to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. The captain sounded like a nice guy, but Bella still would have to take her time to get adjusted.

“I don’t mind rules. My grandmother was kind of uptight so I’m used to them.” Bella looked at Dave and Vincent, glad that they helped with the gentlemen, but still unsure what to make of them.

Vincent looked between Bella and Dave. He figured Dave couldn't be all bad as River would have noticed something if that wasn't the case. As for Bella, well, if he couldn't trust her who could he trust. "Well, I'll catch you guys later. I'll let Mal know what's going on. See ya," he nodded to the three of them and drove off towards the ship.

[Out-Cargo Bay]

River watched Vincent head off. She knew that Mal wouldn't be mad because of him but because of the others.

"Come along Bella lets go retrieve your things" said River

River suddenly felt the familar tinge of the memories from the academy come on hard. They weren't from her perspective though and she realized that some people from the academy were there. She wanted to scream but held it back. She knew exactly where the person was. She took a deep breath to calm herself and then waited for Bella to do something before she would move.

Dave found the ship Serenity at the docks without problem. She was painted like Rver had told him, and he felt a suden rush of emotion for the old boat, after all, he had grown up on a firefly not dissimilar to this.
Dave walked up to the front og the ship and knocked on a hatch on the large cargo bay door, before opening it and stepping inside.

Bella felt relieved to leave the rat hole of a hotel she was in. Heading back to the hotel, they were near it when River screamed. Moving to her side, Bella grabbed River’s hand in a fury. “River, River are you ok hun?” Bella felt her protective side kick in. She barely knew the girl, and despite all the major information, Bella felt like she could trust River.

Looking about the ground and in the crowd, Bella didn’t’ see anything to make her worry. Looking at River, she waited for her to answer her, hoping she would be ok.

"Yes..." said River

River hated those memories and now they flooded her head like crazy which made tears run down her face. She tried to calm down once she did she spoke again.

"I'm sorry Bella I didn't mean to frighten you" said River "It's just that there are people here, people who did things to me, not like what happened to you, the alliance just decided that my mind was another piece of property for them to take"

River took another deep breath the people were coming over now. River knew she could take them if necessary but she would rather avoid that if at all possible for her to do. River kept hold of Bella's hand as she caught the thoughts of the one other thing that she hated more then people from the Academy. She didn't like them at all and she now wanted off of that planet as fast as Serenity would take them.

"Come lets go and fast" said River

Bella nodded and led the way into the hotel. “Ok. I just have to go to my room and grab everything.” Walking into the small and shabby hotel, she went to her right with River behind her and unlocked the door to her room. Everything were still in their bags as Bella thought the place was filled with bugs. Grabbing everything, she grabbed the last bit of money she had to pay for the room. Bella felt like she needed a shower every time she went into this room.

Walking back out to the front desk, she set the money on the counter. The guy just nodded and Bella went outside. Throwing her duffel back over her shoulder, she let her leather one hang down in front of her. Taking in a breath of fresh air, she turned back to River. “Are you ok to go back to the ship now? Or do you want to stay here a moment?” Bella was concerned for River, wanting her to be calm and feel secure before heading back out.

"Back to the ship" said River

She knew Bella wanted her to feel safe but that feeling wouldn't come until she was on the ship and possibly hiding in one of her spots that she was know to go to when she got scared. The guys from the Academy were there and River didn't like them in the least they scared her terribly. Just about as bad as Reavers did but not quite the Reavers were always worse.

"I feel safer on Serenity" said River "It's my home and Mal will want to leave once he finds out that the Alliance are here"

River knew Mal's hate for the Alliance ran deep. He knew some of what they did to her and how she acted before. He knew that she was there start pupil and that she knew things she shouldn't. She had memories in her head that weren't hers. She could feel everything she couldn't not happy, sad, mad, surprise all of and she couldn't block it out. She was a true psychic not like her niece and nephew who were also psychic. River was a whole six or seven levels higher than that, but her own reality matrix was screwed beyond all belief because of it.

"Bella I promise you I will be fine" said River

Bella only wanted River to be fine and continued one then. She made sure River was by her side as they made their way down to the docks. Passing by the men once more, they were all limping back to their ship and seemed to want nothing to do with them. Looking about, she saw no Alliance in uniform as her thoughts went back to her grandmother’s house and all the parties there.

When they got before Serenity, Bella stood there looking at her. The ship was a beauty, unlike any she had ever ridden on before. “Wow.” Looking at the open latch in the back, she got nervous again and told Bella, “You should go in first. I mean, it’s your crews ship and you need to be safe.”

"It'll be a rough ride but she'll fly true" said River looking at her home.

When she was in there she could hear those who had been on and left in one way or another. Thoughts and memories of those who died resonated through the ship including Shepherd Book and Wash. Everything they had said and done on the ship River could see clearly in her head the others would eventually forget things small details people who weren't important to them. River wouldn't her memory was photographic and extremely good.

"Come along" said River

She could still feel the people from the Academy and she knew that they hadn't noticed her. She still wanted to get on the ship and tell Mal what happened. He'd want to get out of there as fast as Serenity would take them when he found out.

"Welcome to Serenity" said River

Bella walked in behind River, hoping that this ship would take her where she wanted. To find someplace to call home again. Looking behind her, Bella took a deep breath. Up until this moment, she didn’t realize she was on the planets her parents used to live on. They were both dead now, but she silently whispered, “Goodbye loves,” and walked into Serenity.
