A tip from a stranger lead her to this planet in the core of the known universe. The tip was important and had come at a heavy price for the young girl. Her body no longer hers and her dwindling savings was leading to a more difficult life. Soon she would need to buy a one way ticket to the rim planets and just stay there. Or find work. Of course thier was the option to follow in her wonderful mother's foot steps while living on the rim planets. Following her mother's foot steps was the last thing she wanted to do though. It was bad enough that she used to body to get what she needed once in a while.
But the tip related to her father, and not her mother. Her mother was long gone and had been for at least for 19 years. But her father had only been gone for 4 years and somedays to Madelyn it felt like he just left. His presence was always with her even though she knew so little about the man. Of course she knew he was a mercenary for a private firm on one of the core planets, the tip told her which planet. The tip also told her that she still has family on that planet. Ariel...
Her trip had been a long trip to Ariel but she arrived on a nice day in the morning and spend her day just wondering about and waiting to see someone who would regconize her. Everyone did say that she looked like her father and only inherited her mother's blonde hair. It was surpising to learn that her father was from a core planet since he hated everything about the core. Madelyn's normal coat was wrapped tightly around her since it was chilly out. But today she took the time to make her hair look nice since she was on a core planet. If there was alot of money left in her accounts then she would have done some shopping. For a moment she wondered if marrying a rich man from the core planets would be a good decision for her.
But for that to happen someone had to be interested in her and take notice of her. She was blending in today with the rest of the people walking down the street so it would be difficutl. Everyone was moving with purpose and like they had a place to go even though it was the middle of the morning. Madelyn walked like there was a place for her to go to since there was a place. A relative of her father lived a few streets down so she thought she would walk by there quickly. One hand on the unloaded gun in her pocket and the other hand on her hip as she kept pace with everyone walking about her.
