This is a Japanese anime with some base similarities to Firefly. Its set in a world where the earth is mostly uninhabitable. Moons and planets in the solar system have been terraformed to a varying degree of success. There was a great war on one of the moons. The bounty system from the old west is in use to help curb crime.

Even the characters bare some base resemblance. Spike tends to take life as it comes and relies on instinct like Mal. Jet is the hardened military man like Zoe. Faye is seen gambling with what little money she has which can relate to Jayne's greedy nature. Ed is a child prodigy much like River. Plus they are like a family, living on an old ship, struggling to get by on the barest essentials.

If you get the chance give it a look. I highly recommend it.

ya, i agree its a pretty good one! and i always thought it was very similar to Firefly

I love anime, but never have the money to get it over ehre. My parents haven't elt em get a job until I jsut gave a huge stink about it-which led to the fight with them on other topics. Besides the point, I think I'll check it out when I have some cashy money to spend
