Steamhardt is a relatively new ship, having only been in the sky for five months. The captain is just as new. The crew is made up of a group of unlikely people, thrown together through circumstance and held there by a shared belief that there is a better life out there for them than what they've been living. Passengers come and go, as the fare is cheap and the company is...entertaining. Very few stay on the ship for too long though, but as is the way for most passengers. A few people on the ship have connections with Serenity, but the future connection between the two ships is still up in air.

off the cargo bay are the crew quarters, the one shuttle being the captain’s quarters. the mechanic sleeps in the lower level with the passengers so they’re always near the engine room. one of the passenger dorms was converted to a make shift infirmary since there was no formal one.
