Atmo: Foreshortening of the word "atmosphere".
Bowden's Malady: A degenerative affliction of the bone and muscle. Afflicts the settlers of Paradisio in the Georgia System.
Browncoats: Referring to the "independents" or rebels against the Alliance, likely in reference to their military uniform.
Bughouse: Slang for "mental health facility".
Central Authority: Presumably the Alliance judicial branch of government.
Companion: An academy-schooled prostitute practicing legally.
Core: Refers to any major city/planet in the Alliance.
Cortex: Assumption being it's kind of like a really big future Internet.
Credits: Type of currency, most likely Alliance-based.
Cruiser: Type of Alliance military vessel. Very large.
Dedicated Source Box: Likely some type of futuristic DSL.

Imprint: Alliance "imprints" every molecule of government goods with a symbol, making them difficult to sell on the black market.
