Not long after, his father was murdered by some small time local gangsters. As such, he joined the local feds office in an attempt to one day bring them down. Despite becoming an accomplished policeman, he was unsuccessful in finding the evidence to convict them. Some part of him knew that they did it, so in the end, he had evidence planted and beat confessions out of them.
In the end, he left Dyton and headed out to the rim where the law was somewhat fuzzier and he would be able to do things his way. He arrived on Ezra and joined the local sheriffs office. After some time, he left once again after he killed his superior for accepting bribes from known murderers. Until he finds a reason to leave, he has chosen to stay on Ezra enforcing the law as he sees fit.
