Basics:
Name: Haven Tam
Age: 23
Model:
Build: Haven is a slim girl, but in good shape
Hair: Straight mousey brown. She’ll wear it tied back of just loose, never any fancier
Eye color: Grey-blue
Height: 5’10”
Skin Tone: Slightly tan
Personal:
Personality (a paragraph at least): Haven is a smart girl by certain standards. She could have gone to school to become a doctor but turned it down. Her parents offered to send her under an assumed name but she benefited more learning from her father. Plus, she has a problem not being able to stay focused and her father understood that. It would have taken almost three times as long to go to school to become a doctor and Haven didn't like the idea of it. She got complete hands on training and built up a tolerance to deal with the craziness of less then honest work. Despite her hyperactivity, when it comes down to a patient, she can focus. It’s the free time and given the option to do something else then study which keeps her from wanting to go planet-side. Out here she only has to be serious at sporadic moments.
All around she’s a sweet girl if your nice enough to her, but start a fight and a temper will flair. Haven has her Uncle Jayne's tongue when it comes to lashing out. Though unlike many of the cliche girls, she’s a terrible cook and would rather heat something up then be over a stove. She’s a fast reader but anything other then fiction bores her and she can’t read a book more then once. Ideally, she takes music over anything but that's hard to come by out here.
Haven is big on her faith. Though she has a sharp tongue, likes to drink and isn’t exactly the most celibate person around, she knows that God is out there in the stars and watching over her and everyone else. She isn’t seen without her silver cross around her neck. She wears it on a longer chain and tucked into her shirt when walking around the boarder so no greedy snatcher sees it and tried to take it. Her bible-Shepard Book's bible-is always with her when she goes onto a ship as well. Some time’s people see her as an oxymoron for how she is in believing in a woman’s right to her body, drinking, cussing and being on a crew that steals yet will pray. Still Haven does believe what she believes and will stand by it. Just she's learned not to say much around Uncle Mal.
Background (a paragraph at least): Haven was born on Serenity with her twin brother and that is where the two grew up. It was always interesting as they were constantly being chased so they didn't fall from the catwalk of the cargo bay nor pulled at any wires. Mostly when confided together, the twins could keep one another occupied. There were arguments over toys and mindless cries but all in all a good childhood. When it came time to get some education, it was a crew effort to get it done. Everyone had a little bit to teach the kids. Even Jayne had softened up some with three munchkins on board. Usually Haven and her brother were put in the same area as their cousin. All were close.
Growing up on Serenity has been interesting-between Uncle Mal’s heists, River's time at te academy, Uncle Jayne and her dad arguing and learning about Aunt Inara’s job-but it only helped them grow more, making it worthwhile. The entire crew has grown to be a makeshift family. Everyone who wasn't her parent's were her aunts or uncles. They always thought of Haven as the troublemaker. She took after Jayne in that sense but no the extent of love or guns. Sure by nine he had taught her all the different guns out there, how to take one apart and clean it. It was no big deal as long as her parent's didn't know. Usually Aunt River figured out or sensed her secrets. Sometimes she said something and other times she kept things a secret. Not like Haven got much for punishments-just chores-because they didn't have much to be taken away. A small radio and some books. Haven probably had the most books because she hardly reads one twice. That leaves her constantly buying if she can't sell or trade them. When she leaves Serenity those may stay back.
When she was eleven years old, she announced that she was becoming a vegetarian. This didn't go over too well with Mal so he insisted she cook her own meals when they had family ones. Usually she was fine because they had an over abundance of rice and noodles. Plus the protein bars weren’t made from meat so she didn’t complain. It kept her from dipping too low in certain nutrients so her parents couldn’t complain too much. And when she was fourteen she was tinkering in the infirmary when her father found her. From there Haven has been working under her fathers shadow as has assistant. At least those surprises weren’t too wild compared to others Haven’s been caught in. Such as getting a little dirty with a local boy planetside. Or sneaking some drinks with the help of Jayne. And getting into a fist fight while running errands, nearly alerting authorities. Haven has definitely been a bit of a wild one growing up.
Now she knows when she needs to be calm and when she can have fun. Training to be a medic does that. While she hasn’t had formal training, her father has and that’s worth it. When not too busy with things, Haven will just be her normal crazy self. Now, though, she is making a very much adult decision on her own. She is looking to leave Serenity and expand her medical training to her own.
Career/Occupation: Haven works under her father, learning how to be a medic. She hopes to join her cousin Alora on her ship but doesn't know how to go about it yet.
Alliance or Browncoat or Niether: Browncoat
Talents/Special Abilities: Haven has a knack for creating things out of random objects & writing stories that are inspired by her family on Serenity. Nothing has been published but sometimes she will sell her knick-knacks for personal money. Haven will give some for supplies but she is saving up for when she goes out on her own.

Other: Haven is a vegetarian, so that often means she has to buy meatless items & make a separate meal herself so she doesn’t have to have any meat. While her clothing style has feminine aspects, she hardly wears pastels or frilly things. Her style has a bit of edge to it but Haven still maintains showing off her feminine curves.
Code: Wash
RP Sample: (5 sentences at least)Haven finished crimping the bracelet for her mother. The bracelet was made from some black ribbon with beads spaced out upon it. The beads were the color of her birthstone, Haven’s, Keifer’s, & their father’s. Haven smiled at the thought of the look on her mothers face when she gave it to her. They had recently been in a fight & Haven knew she was at fault. This was her way of apologizing. “And I have just the perfect box!” she exclaimed aloud. Jumping up, Haven opened her side table & pulled out a small pink bow she had made from some foil she’d found. Looking farther back in the draw, she found some white tissue paper with little silver stars to use as well.
Once she was finished wrapping her gift, Haven decided to lay down for a small nap. Clearing everything off her bed, Haven crawled under the blankets & drifted into sleep.
