New Friends, Job Starting

[Arabella Hart]

Bella wrinkled her nose as she laughed. “Frizzy hair and all.” She knew he meant it, though she was still self-conscious. Moving her head from his shoulder, she looked at him. It was so sudden him wanting to know. She grabbed both his hands as her heart raced. She hadn’t felt the need to tell him anymore, but now knew she had to. She took a deep breath. “Me and Alec…” She paused again, searching his eyes. “W-we went deeper then just dating regularly.” She hoped he would get his meaning.

"Oh..." Daniel had a fair good idea as to what she meant. He wasn't overly shocked by it but it still caught him by surprise. He had half expected that this was along the lines of what she wanted to tell him, he was just hoping that he was wrong. He was ok with it, it just now meant that Bella and Alec were closer that he originally thought. "So, would that mean......that he was your first then?" He hoped that this was the case.

Bella saw how shocked he was and felt bad. She probably shouldn’t have told him. She squeezed his hands, feeling sorry to load this on him in the middle of the job. Her face remained even and blank. “He was. And the only one I’ve been with.” She kissed his cheek. “I’m sorry. I was young-filled with hope of love. But it was love. Love is in front of me.” She wasn’t saying this just to make him feel better. She really meant it.

Daniel smiled back to her. "I'm ok with that. When you first mentioned him to me, I considered the possibiliy that you two may have slept together." It wouldn't have made a difference if she had or hadn't. He still loved her all the same. Daniel kissed her back, "If you want, you can ask me anything about my love life before now. I think its only fair."

Bella still felt like he was wasn’t fully acceptive of it. But who would be? Bella certainly would be hurt to be in his positions. But he was beginning to even out the playing field. She stood there, a hand on his cheek, her thumb running along it. “How many did you love before me? In any way-physically or with your whole heart.”

Daniel gave a sigh. It wasn't sad or anything, it was just to prepare himself for what he was about to tell her. "When it comes to my whole heart.......you would be the first." He may have had crushes on other girls, but it never was love. Puppy-love maybe. "Physically.......I....haven't been with anyone. I'm still a...a....well you know." If felt awkward enough just telling her about it. He didn't want to have to say the word as well.

Bella closed her eyes a moment, feeling bad for saying anything. But she didn’t want secrets from him. Opening her eyes, she cupped his face with her left hand, leaving the other on his chest. “I only wanted you to know so there was no secrets and Alec couldn’t surprise you. I love and care for you too much to have to deal with that.” Bella pressed herself to him in a hug. When her and Alec had first broken up, he had gone to all boyfriends, or some cases matches, and detailed their sexual experiences. Bella had been livid at the time, but pleased others. But with Daniel, she didn’t want this ruined. Not for the ‘verse.

Daniel held Bella close to him. He was so glad to get this all out in the open. "I know you don't want any secrets. Now, I feel as though I can handle Alec. He won't be a problem for me. I love you and I'll do anything for you." He just wanted to be with Bella. He felt so much better having told her he was a virgin. He would have to have told her eventually. He felt so comfortable around her now.

Bella wrapped her arms tightly around his waist. She wished that everything could so easily be washed away. But the hurt would always linger. No one can handle Alec, she thought silently to herself. Not even her, which is why she was glad to be rid of him. Bending down, she grabbed the box with the rings. No harm putting them on now. She slid on the engagement ring and the woman’s band. “I need to get used to it.” Mainly she wanted to wear it and just wish that this was all already real.

Daniel smiled when Bella but the rings on. They suited her perfectly. It looked like a good idea, so he took the male band and put it onto his finger. He held the hand that hand her rings on with the hand that had his ring. They looked so perfect together. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say that we were already married."

Bella’s throat constricted watching him. If only they could just elope now. But everyone would get mad at that. She squeezed his hand. “It could happen sooner then you think.” Kissing his lips softly, she pressed her cheek to his in a loving embrace. She wished moments like this lasted forever. Never ending.

Daniel knew what she meant. He wanted to just get down on one knee and propose to her right there and then. But he was afraid of what everyone might say. Aunt River and Vincent wanted to get married so soon after getting togther, but they were full grown adults. Bella and Daniel were still young. Everyone would probably have a fit. Once Bella kissed him, all those worries washed away. He no longer cared what everyone else thought. But, he would still wait a bit longer. He kissed her back, his lips barely touching hers, "I'm sure it will."

Bella felt she needed to go, to get ready for dying everyone’s hair. Kissing his cheek once more, she nuzzled it with her nose, smiling. “I have to go get ready. Change into something stained.” She pulled back to retrieve the bags and stretch.

Daniel nodded to Bella and gave her a peck on the cheek as well, "Ok then. I should probably get on with my work in the engine room now. I'll talk to you later." He headed off to work, where he spent the whole time learning everyone's new names and practicing how to behave in proper society. This job was not going to be easy.

Bella left to change. The dying of the hair would take long. This was the craziest job. But to get her stuff and pay them $3000 would make her happy.
