Since being more comfortable on the ship, he grew his hair out more to the point of where his bangs can cover his eyes and not slicked back as it was before, instead keeping that nice, chestnut color and letting it fall where it really wants to. Here, his hair is actually wavy, not overly curly but neither very straight, giving him the somewhat playful look about him.
Eye color: An electric blue color with brown and green scattered randomly in the iris in an almond-shaped geometric. This striking blue color of eyes are usually the first thing that most people will notice about him if not the smile that he dazzles isn't on his face. Personality (a paragraph at least):To most who know Simon well, they see him as a polite person who is willing to do anything for the people he loves, a prime example would be his sister. Simon is known to be extremely appropriate to people upon meeting them and living with them. His politeness and mannerism seems to be the only thing that he really treasures in himself and is the only thing that he knows he will always have. He shows respect to anyone who talked to him, regardless if he is better than him or her or not. He also is more than willing to give everything he has for someone he loves or someone that he cares about. This incredible selfless trait is common among doctors, but seems to shine brightly within Simon moreso than others of the medical profession. Simon has always wished to help people, whether that was treating a patient or helping an old lady cross the street. It's not so much that he wanted to help people, but he needed to help people. If he is unable to help someone, he has a feeling of being useless (something that he cannot stand) and he will try to do what he can be become useful in a situation. Simon is also honest, he will only lie unless if absolutely must do so or if he has no respect or concern for the person. His loyalty really lies in his honesty, if he trusts you, you can trust him. Simon began receiving notes from River a few months into her schooling, littered with spelling errors and mentions of parties and families that did not exist. Eventually, Simon realized that River was writing in code, asking him to rescue her, though when he informed his parents of this, they dismissed it as paranoia.
After learning about River's abuse at the Academy, he was unable to help her for two more years. However, Simon was eventually contacted by a group of men from an underground movement. They explain to him that the Alliance has been "playing with her brain." If funded, the men agreed to sneak River out via cryogenics. River would then be taken to Persephone, which is a planet slightly outside the Core, where Simon could take her wherever he wished.
Simon spent a large amount of money funding the men. As part of the plan, he managed to break into the Academy disguised as a uniformed official of the Alliance government and asked questions of Dr. Mathias about River’s treatment. Simon activated a hidden stun grenade and released River. They then ran to the window of an elevator shaft and broke through, while a ship overhead released a raft they then used to ride up to safety. This was all caught on the security cameras of the Academy. From there, they headed to Persephone.
When the Alliance learnt of River's rescue, they promptly froze all of Simon's monetary accounts, leaving him with nothing but his medkit, and put out a warrant for the arrest of both Simon and River, labelling them as fugitives.
After landing on Persephone, Simon, looking for a ship to take him and River off-planet, choose the ship Serenity, which had just docked at the Eavesdown Docks. He came aboard, dressed to the nines, and silent. The ship's pilot, Wash, hauled the box with River (unknown to Wash) on board the ship.
From the beginning, Simon and Mal experienced a lot of tension. This was due mainly to their similarity—both would do anything to protect their family.
Almost twenty years ago, after the incident on miranda, Simon and Kaylee were married. They had twins, a son, Daniel, and a daughter, Haven.
