"Attention Dardania space station, this is The Crippled Osprey requestion permission to dock. I'm bringing up some of that fancy alcohol you guys love so much. Let me dock, so I can start handing it out."
Done speaking for the moment, the captain, pilot, and one man crew of The Crippled Osprey watched the space station, humming to himself softly. "Really need to get myself a bigger ship," he muttered, looking around at the cramped cockpit, and back through to the cargo/passenger hold, which was stocked full of boxes, containers, and barrels of all shapes and sizes, each strapped to the other, and all of them strapped to the wall.
"Oh! I've also got some medical supplies and food. You know, if you guys want it," he continued, lifting his mic back to his lips and speaking into it. The crew of the space station were probably the only people in the 'Verse that Asher could get along with at the moment. Mainly because he had gotten to know them.
"Hurry up. I would like to take a nap before my next run," he continued. "Or a decent rest, if that's possible." Leaning back in his seat, the man waited, letting his ship come to a stop at a reasonable distance from the station. Any closer was insulting to the crew of the station, as it could signal an attack.

L I K E. P R A Y E R S. I N. M Y. P O C K E T S. Donovan got the call when Asher was making his way back around. Whenever a cargo transport came back around, the head medic was there to help sort through things. Hopefully there were some decent medical supplies. He could order some himself but unless he arranged time to pick it up, they delivered to the space station. And since there was a bit of not so honest folks aorund, that wasn’t a good idea. It would be another month before he could arrange going to Athens and figuring out getting supplies here. While he still believed in what the Alliance was trying to do he knew there was a better way to go about things. Sometimes the side he was on wavered a bit but he figured someday the powers at be may get it right. Still, Donovan knew not everyone here was liked minded so he kept his thoughts to himself.
Skipping along he whistled a cheerful tune as he made his way to the docking station. Pausing in the safety area, as the pressure returned to normal in the main area. When the lifts went up the pressure changed a smidge but it wasn’t too dangerous. Just everyone always knew it was best to be careful around here. Asher’s voice filled around and he chuckled as he half mocked the group. A couple gave him a sideways glance. ”What? He’s funny.” Donovan liked most everyone who had a permanent to semi-permanent residence around here. Some didn’t like him if he delivered bad news but it was all part of the job. Donovan hated that part of his work but he always tried to be as helpful as possible in recovery-if that was possible.
With the top button of his shirt undone, Donovan loosened up more by rolling up his sleeves. There was no serious need for him here but he wanted to over see the medical supplies. As things got pulled out, he caught sight of what he was eager for. ”Take these to the lab. They know now to touch ti until I get back. Then this box goes to my office.” Donovan had to log in everything-something he wasn’t looking forward to. Rubbing his bare head, he smiled. ”Another good job man. These’ll help. But really? You can’t grab a drink before sleeping?” Donovan himself never had more then a drink or two himself. Being the head medic he was on call all the time. It sucked but he loved his job.

After docking, and waiting for the airlock to cycle, Asher nodded in greeting to Donovan. "Just doing my job. You know how I work. If the station needs it, I bring it up. I only charge the shipper," he replied, flashing a tight grin.
And then he got to work, cataloging some of the items to make the job easier for Donovan. "Which, for some reason, is almost always Alliance. They ship a lot of supplies to you guys," he continued, his eyes working over the containers and marking the contents and size.
Looking up for a moment, he focused on the men moving the containers out of the ship. "If any of these come up missing, you guys are all going to see whether or not your blood can boil out of your ears before the sun fries you to a crisp," he stated, his face devoid of emotion.
At the pale looks the men exchanged, the pilot nodded and turned back to Donovan. "A drink? Maybe one. But then I'm for a bath and bed. You know how hard it is to sleep in that little cockpit? And I can't sleep in the cargo bay or engine room. Cargo bay always has cargo, and the engine room doesn't have the space," he continued, as he rolled his neck. A satisfying pop sounded, and he reached back to rub the spot.
And then turned his head to stare at Don for a minute. He gestured at the undone buttons and rolled up sleeves. "You going off shift? Normally, when you're dressed like that, you're getting off your shift on the main deck," he stated, as he pulled his hand back from his neck, letting his fingers brush the hilt of the sword strapped to his back. Now that he thought about it, the pale looks might have something to do with the fact that he was a former Operative...Everyone on Dardainia seemed to know, and he could easily go through with his threats without a second thought.

L I K E. P R A Y E R S. I N. M Y. P O C K E T S. Donovan stiffened slightly at the mention of the Alliance. The ship didn’t get a lot of support from them. No, the god doctor had friends who supported his work up here. There were good people who needed medical help and most ignored the riff raff that was wanted by the Alliance. At least ignored that they were wanted and let them go on their merry way. At least Asher understood. They both have pasts tied to the Alliance though Donovan still had hope they’d come around for the better good soon. ”Yes, well, as long as they don’t come bother us good folks.” Most people around here knew his allegiance laid with the government but he was respectful. Donovan never spilt any secrets of up here to any friends he would wave planetside. And when he was questioned about his doings up here when he had first been getting ready, all Donovan said was he was going to help people. If he knew of any criminals he would wave. But he didn’t “know” of any per say. Not like he kept checking the cotex to see who was high profile.
As they sorted out the supplies, he was pleased with this haul. It’d last them at least two months as long as the students didn’t mess things up. It was mighty dangerous buying from Alliance suppliers but he needed it. Being a respected doctor he got a good price while buying from a middle man proved to be expensive. The medical wing didn’t have a ton of funds to pay for over priced medicines. As long as no one came around they were fine.Donovan rubbed at his shaved head as he let out a breath of air. ”Nah that’s too easy. They should know what it’s like to hover only half anaesthetised while being cut open.” Donovan wasn’t a violent man but don’t piss him off or steal from him. Watching the supplies go off, he made a mental note to double check everything with his order. Dardania didn’t have many cameras except in the storage area and right by the offices. That way they could claim indifference if questioned about a certain person.
Turning from serious to more relaxed, Donovan fiddled with his watch a moment. He hated the thing but it was suggested that doctor’s keep them on at all times. Well, not here, but when he had been planetside so it was a habit that had moved to up here. It was hard to break things like that. ”Well at least no one here cares if you bathe. Otherwise I’d shove you in the sanitizing showers in my wing.” Donovan shuddered a little as Asher popped his neck. It was a pet peeve of his. People didn’t even realize how bad that was for them to do to themselves. But, he left it alone. Right now he just wanted to catch up and get away from the mass amounts of women walking around the place he was meant to work.
”Uh not really. i never go off shift but as long as I’m not Tian di Wu Yohn then I’m fine. Otherwise I’d never get to loosen up.” After the docking area was cleared out, Donovan moved towards the doors to head out to the common areas. They had a bar set in a lounge area. Ident cards weren’t normally checked as everyone knew serving children liquor wasn’t a great idea. ”I say we keep it between us though.”

"We'll be fine. As long as no one lets go that I'm here. But, even then, I'll be gone before the Alliance gets here if that happens," he replied, as he glanced at the men unloading his ship. Their faces were even whiter then before.
"Well, we could do both. I could drop them out when you're done cutting on 'em," he offered, turning his head to grin at Donovan. "That way, we both win," he continued, as he lowered his hands to rest on his belt.
"I got to thinking, I can get some more supplies up here. Enough to last you at least three months or so, if you want. Won't cost you much. The guy I can get them from knows me from way back when, and offered them to me cheap," he stated, as his head turned back to the cargo area. Seeing it empty, he nodded slightly, and gestured towards Donovan.
"You know I don't go near the med wing. That places smell like a hospital. And I hate that smell," he remarked, grinning. "It lingers. You know? And yeah. I know how that is. Never going off duty. Makes the nerves go raw. Now, let's go get a drink. One drink. Otherwise, I'm likely to crash and kill myself when I head back down to the planet tomorrow, to see if I can find some more crew for the station. And then who would fly supplies for you guys?" he asked, as he moved out of the docking area, and towards the recreation area.

L I K E. P R A Y E R S. I N. M Y. P O C K E T S. Donovan shrugged off the comment as just Asher being Asher. He himself found it funny since Asher was one an operative and Donovan had worked in an Alliance aligned hospital. Some people thought Donovan would run right to the Purple Bellies to tell them the going ons up here. So when people even made jokes or threats about it concerning others, he just found it funny. Sometimes newcomers thought they could intimate the doctor after hearing how he still sympathized with the Alliance. Quickly they learned that their worries wereiorrational. His boss seemed satisfied with how Donovan did his job and the fact he wasn’t going to rat anyone out. The laugh at the person was usually the first tip off.
”Yes could work. Been so long since I took out my frustrations on anything. Taking them out on another person shall work.” Donovan rubbed at the back of his neck. even though Asher did all the hard work of getting the supplies here, now Donovan had the hard task of organizing everything. Then if they were low on something figuring out rationing things out. Sometimes it was hard not having a legitimate dealer from planetside. But he knew the hardship he’d have in taking up work on an unaccredited space station. It had technically been pulled from any government aide years ago but the people kept this place floating about. ”I may have to take up that offer. We keep seeing an influx of patients and I can’t keep up with the meds they need.” There were times that some people who should have more pain medications didn’t, instead having to settle for local anesthetics. He felt bad but he knew he had to save the hardcore stuff for people with more serious wounds or who were post op.
Donovan scanned his ident card to leave the cargo area. Unless you were a regular places like there were something you had to scan to get in. The patient rooms in the medical center were one; even visitors couldn’t get in unless staff scanned them in. ”Well that is why I slip something into your drink first. Just enough so that you don’t pass out but can’t fight back.” Asher had been around long enough to know Donovan’s twisted sense of humor. Or so the doctor hoped. It wasn’t like it used to be. Partly using his job in relation to jokes is how he got through now. Once he used to be able to easily joke about other things but since his wife death he found it difficult to get back to those old ways. Even though it had been years since her death, Donovan had been completely changed after that.
”You just got back! Why do you already have to fly out? You know some days I think we need to get you some help. That way there’s some entertainment around here. Who else can dominate the billiards with me?”
