So, I mentioned this to Bubbles in the chatbox last night, but I thought I would post it here for review whenever you get around to it. I know you are busy with the site and all, so no rush or anything. I just wanted to get my thoughts down before I got distracted. xP
I was thinking about making a character to be the... er... president? Mayor? Head Honcho? Whatever, you get the idea, of a space station. There really weren't any in the show, so I'm not sure if you'd be interested, but I imagine it like a big ole colony that stays stationary.
My idea was that the place, I'll call it Pegasus for the sake of explaining but the name is totally up in the air, was once an alliance controlled space station designed mainly for refueling purposes for cruisers outside of their normal areas and a place for assassins and the like (that the Alliance don't particularly like to recognize but still use) could stop in for medical use or housing. I figured it would be floating on the edge of the border or in the rim. After the Miranda incident, funding got tight and Pegasus was cut off. They don't refuel the station anymore, nor do they deliver any supplies. All of the high class families who had been living there left, not to say that there were many there to begin with, and the station was left to rot, more or less. Maybe it was being used to house a colony that was supposed to be put on a moon that was being terraformed, but the moon was nixed from the budget and the people were left on the station to be dealt with at a more convenient time. Well, eventually the Alliance just turned a blind eye to the station, so it needed to find a way to keep afloat. Most of the population turned to crime. They get fuel by savaging and stealing and turn around to sell it to other crooks who fly in needing support. They take a kindness to helping out rebels and stranded peoples out in the verse, even though they don't have much to share.
For a floor plan idea, I was thinking about using the space station from Disney's Zenon, if that would be okay. A circular floor plan with docking in the middle and compartments that can detach and fly a short distance much like short ranged shuttles, only with less control.
If you don't think it would work out, no worries. ^^ I'll just make a crime lord or something. Teehee.
