Personal Evaluation
CWO4 Allen is a patriotic career military man who firmly believes in a safe, ordered universe. He also understands that sacrifices on his own part are sometimes needed, as he has proven many times in the past, volunteering for the most dangerous of jobs and even being willing to leave his whole life behind in order to further aid the Alliance. He is honest, hard working, intelligent, brave and a man of few vices. However, CWO4 Allen is also capable of acting in the exact opposite way if doing so will aid the Alliance.
CWO4 Allen is well known by senior officers for his love of cheap chocolate, good rum, good literature, intelligent women of a higher social status, large calibre firearms and jury rigged weapons of mass destruction. He is also known for his intense loathing of drunkenness, smoking, what he terms "idiotic junior officers", fools, fops, corruption and Reavers.
Background
CWO4 Allen volunteered for the alliance as soon as the Unification War began, and was assigned as a mechanic to the destroyer Vampire. He volunteered for the Damage Control Team, specifically the Emergency Reactor Repair Team, considered by many to be the most dangerous job of all. Allen's logic, as recorded by his senior officer, was that someone had to do the job, and it might as well be someone who wanted to.
In 2492, Allen again volunteered for a dangerous duty, signing up for the human trials of the first prototype of the now standard anti-radiation gene therapy. While fully informed that the side effects could include uncontrollable rumour growth, Allen knew that human trials were the only way forward, and so he stepped up without hesitation. While Allen was not affected by rumour growth, his telomeres were lengthened and then, unusually, did not shorten. As a result, Allen has not aged physically since 2492.
Following the immobilization of the Vampire by the rebel cruiser Freedom during the Battle of Jiangyin, Allen rescued fifteen injured crew members, despite being wounded himself, and then kept them alive in a pocket of atmosphere for eight days, using a jury rigged air filter and water filter, until salvage crews found them. For this action, which included performing surgery on the wounded under instruction from a medics, Allen was awarded the Medal of Exemplary Bravery. He was awarded a bar to the medal two years later, after volunteering for a rescue mission that involved fixing a troop transport in enemy territory. After aiding in the repair of the ship, Allen assisted with the evacuation of the wounded soldiers, running two hundred metres under enemy fire and killing five rebel soldiers to rescue the surviving members of the forward position.
After cessation of hostilities, Allen was demobbed and found work as a mechanic on a cargo ship. He stayed under the radar for several years, until he had an affair with the wife of a high ranking official. Allen won the duel through what some would term underhanded means, taunting his opponent until rage took over, and was forces to flee. He was picked up by Alliance Intelligence two weeks later and recruited for Operation Brutus. His role was to infiltrate smuggling rings and pirate ships, collect evidence and then leave on some pretense. Months later, so as to not arouse any suspicion, that particular smuggling ring or pirate ship would be targeted and destroyed.
Following the Miranda Incident, Allen became disillusioned with the Alliance. However, the chaos and disorder that followed the dissolution of the old Alliance convinced him that the Alliance was still needed, despite the sins of previous administrations. When the Alliance was reformed, Allen once again began to work for the Alliance and has done ever since.
At the present time, CWO4 Allen, in the guise of Harry Greentree, is onboard the Allygiance being interrogated over the "death" of his father, in order to solidify his latest cover story.
