Overall Other Appearance;;Jim is a little bit wiry and as such people tend to underestimate him in a fight however Jim would prefer to avoid the fight all together, so has recently been trying to gain some muscle for his wiry, lanky frame. Jim has no need for flashy outfits and as such Jim usually dresses in normal comfortable clothing typical of a farmboy.

Talents/Special Abilities;; Hacking, after Jim left his homeworld and was introduced to technological advancements he had only heard of he made an effort to learn everything he could and has become quite the hacker as a result, he help with the crews higher security jobs and helps keep the alliance off of their back (i.e. Warns the crew if they’re getting close or tries to misdirect them.)
Other than that Jim has a habit of picking up things quickly a trait he has in common with Owen who has taken him under his wing so to speak. Although at times (any time owen’s around really) Jimmy really wishes he hadn’t.
Overall personality;;Jimmy is new to the harsh ways of the verse, he’s no saint but some of the thins he’s seen he finds shocking. Jim was raised to be a country gent so finds it hard to accept when someone isn’t being one or some of the Steamhardts casual flings. Jim has a problem with killing even the one’s that try to kill him a trait that earns him no end of ridicule from some of the members of the Steamhardt.
The idea of someone killing someone else for money is sickening too him, which is why he dislikes many of the types of people he meets in his travels. Jimmy also as mentions has trouble understanding how some of the crew can go through lovers like meals, his parents were in love and the only person he has ever been with he believed to be the love of his life. Despite her betrayal Jim’s trust is easily earned he tends to think the best of people until they rove otherwise and even then he believes people can change which is one of the reasons he dislikes killing. If a person is dead they can hardly redeem themselves.
Other;;Jim’s father was an Independent vet and taught Jim from a young age how to fight with numerous weapons as such can take care of himself although is a little naive to some of the less honorable ways of fighting.

The town was small and had a close knit community they looked out for each other. Jim grew up in a large family he was the second youngest in the family and the youngest hadn’t been born yet. growing up with 4 older brothers he was used to getting picked on. Jim’s dad did train him in martial arts and boxing unfortunately he also taught his brothers and more than one brawl erupted in the Dalton house due to sibling rivalry. Jim was the smallest in the family and as such had too work twice as hard to even have a chance at beating one of his brothers, by the time he was 14 he was considered the third best fighter in the family after his Dad and his eldest brother Sam. This was also when Jim reached his growth spurt which excited Jim not only because he would no longer be the smallest, but also because he thought he would be able to beat his eldest brother in a sparring match. Sam however had other ideas and left the small moon to see the verse and have adventures of his own. Jim vowed to find him one day and challenge him to a rematch. Sam started a tradition of each of the Dalton sons leaving home as soon as they became 18 which over the years they did.
14 was a big year of change for Jim one of the most significant was the adition of a little sister for Jim. Jim was beginning to get excited that he would n longer be the youngest when one of his older brothers shut that down saying. “Don’t get any idea’s you’ll still be the shrimp in the family to us”.
14 was also the year Jim graduated from the towns local highschool. Jim was one of those people who learnt extremely quickly and was actually quite smart despite his jock like look. Still his brothers weren’t too happy that they still had to o and he didn’t so they fought him more than once eventually figuring out that they stood a better chance against him if they attacked him together. As a result Jim became quite proficient at fighting multiple enemies at once.
At the age of 14 Jim grew in more ways than one that was the year he fell in love with Casey a girl who he had known his entire life, but suddenly girls were interesting and she was the most... interesting girl in town. Jim and Casey soon began dating and when they were 17 were each others first.
However as the years went on Jim was wanting to leave more and more as all of his brothers had before him. His brothers sent word occasionally or returned for rare visits always taunting him about being the good little stay at home son. Jim said he was just saving his money but in truth the only thing holding him back was Casey who was slowly becoming more and more interested in Jim’s brothers and stories of their adventures. Jim had no idea until the night he caught his eldest brother Sam in bed with him. Jim went into a rage and attacked Jim with all he had almost killing him before his Dad and the rest of his brothers pulled him off. Worried what he might do if he stayed and with nothing holding him back anymore Jim decided to leave.
So Jim used all of the money he had saved up working for his father to get a one way trip to Dardania the space station figuring from there he could catch a ship too anywhere. As soon as he got there however he was surrounded by 5 men and the men attempted to mug him thinking he was an easy target fresh off the ship. They got more than they bargained for after his initial surprise Jim got himself together and knocked two of them out before they knew what hit them. However after their surprise of finding out he could fight the others worked together it was an even match as Jim was used to fighting his entire family, but was reluctant to do them any serious harm where as they weren’t as courtious.
Luckily Jim was saved by a stranger who intervened and unlike Jim wasn’t afraid to kill them, which as soon as he was done with them he scolded Jim for. That was how Jim met Owen. Owen convinced Jim to become a passenger on the ship he was a mercenary on even managing to convince the captain a one Mr. gates reduce the price of passage if Jim helped out with the occasional job. Apparently that was what Owen used to do. The catch was that it meant he was Owens responsibility to show him the roes which from what Jim has figured so far consists of much the same treatment Jim’s brothers used to give him.
Jim hasn’t spent long on the Steamhardt, but has so far enjoyed it more or less he dislike’s Kelly immensely, but the rest of them are alright so far as he’s concerned.
