Relaxing

Kaylee made her way from the engine room and down the stairs next to the infirmary into the common area.

"There you are." She said looking at Daniel. "Were you able to get everything fixed?" She said maked her way toward Simon; stopping to kiss Haven's forehead. "Hey sweetheart."

She finally got next to Simon and smiled. She kissed his cheek, "Hey you."

Inara smiled as Simon and then Kaylee walked in, getting up from her place next to Daniel she moved to them and kissed Kaylee on the forhead in greeting.

"I still have somethings to go over in my Shuttle, the shipment of fruit and vegetables just came in and I need to sort it all out before I bring it up here." She said with a smile before leaving the Common Room.

(out- Cargo Bay)

Jayne stretches. "Man, have I gotten some sleep. No more drinking for me. I need to start changing my life if I want to last longer. You still have not told me where Mal is."

[Simon Tam]

Simon smiled, he wraped his arm around Kaylee.
"That'l be the day Jayne. If you want to live longer, you should try a bit harder to stay off of my operating table. Or perhaps just not get shot in the first place."
He sniped.
"And where is Mal? Isn't he back yet?"
a slightly worried look crossed his face, he realises that Ezra was one of the safer planets in the outer edges, but it was still one of the outer planets. He took Kaylee in his arms and kissed the top of her head.

[Haven Tam]

Haven smiled at her parents, glad they weren't like the other couples she'd seen in her travels-like Mal and Inara. Haven sat up and stretched, peering at her brother. "Take another drink and suffer my rath."

Getting up, Haven walked around to sit on the back of her brother's chair. Scrunching her brow like her father, she piped up, "Mal went planetside about an hour and a half ago. Said he had buisness to attend to." Her uncle Mal was always buisness and no fun not that she had grown up.

Daniel finally manage to look up to his mother and say "Don't worry Mom. Everything should be in working order for a month or so at least."

Daniel looked up at his sister an said "You don't scare me sis." He grabbed the glass and went to take another sip from it. Daniel always assumed he picked up this attitude from the likes of Mal, Jayne or Vincent because he knew full well that his parents wouldn't deliberately antagonize others like this.

[Simon Tam]

"Haven, Daniel, stop antagonising each other, no good will come out of it."
Simon said, before continuing
"Im going to go down to the cargo bay and see if Mal's back yet, I'll see you in a minute."
as he kissed Kaylee on the cheek and walked out towards the cargo-bay acess ramps.
[Exit to cargo-bay]

Jayne stands up. "Ya, I think I'll head there too. I want to know what's keeping Mal so long down there." Jayne waves goodbye to everyone.

[Haven Tam]

Haven felt proud. Going "ha" to her brother, she snatched her water and gulped it down. "Want to go to the cargo bay and see if our dear aunt brought home some new visitors?" River sometimes brought new passenger's she met in her travels and it got Haven excited to meet new people.

"Shiny, thank you sweetie." She said, smiling at her son.

Kaylee smiled again when Inara kissed her forehead. "See you later 'Nara." She said as Inara left and made her way to the cargo bay. She rolled her eyes as Haven started instigating her brother. She leaned over to Simon.

"You'd never know our children were adults, the way they start in on each other." She said parting with Simon to get a full glass of water. She filled the glass and walked toward Daniel. "Here, drink this and stop antagonizing your sister." Kaylee said glancing at Haven as a look of pride crossed her face. "And you, be nice to your brother. You both have been working too hard and you don't deserve this treatment from anyone, let alone each other." Kaylee said trying to sound harsh. Although her children were 19 years old, she still found it tough to be harsh with them or anyone for that matter. She felt truly blessed that she hadn't needed to be harsh with them that often. She smiled when the attitude changed as Haven invited Daniel to join her in the cargo bay. As much as she hated to put off the much needed work, she figured it would be okay.

"Hey that sounds like fun." She said smiling, almost as an apology for having to 'yell' at them. "You two go see River, I'll catch up later. I want to clean the engine room up a bit so we aren't tripping over someone's tools later." She said smiling and raising an eyebrow at Daniel. They both knew that they were equally at fault for the mess, but what was the point of working together if they couldn't have a little fun in the process? She walked over and kissed their foreheads. "All my love. Behave you two." She said smiling, making her way back to the engine room.

Kissing her mother goodbye, Haven finished off her water and put the glass away. Taking her sweatshirt off and leaving it on the couch, she decided to go ahead of Daniel. "When your down with that, meet me in the cargo bay." Hurrying off, Haven wanted to see if there were any new people or not.

Daniel took the glass his mother gave him, "But I didn't.....she star.....I.....sorry Mom." Daniel often wondered why their parents didn't understand that him and Haven we're just having fun with each other.

"I'll be there in a minute sis," unlike his sister, Daniel never like it when new people came on board. He never was very good at first impressions. He looked down and saw the mess his clothes were in. He downed his water and rushed off to the Tam shuttle. If there were new people on board, the least he could do was make himself look presentable. He made sure that know one saw him sneak in.
