Daniel was getting a little upset himself. In trying to make Bella feel better, he only went and made her feel worse. "I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean to say that. It must have been difficult for you as it is. I won't ever hurt you like he did, and I won't let him do it again."

Bella hugged herself, nodding. Clearing her throat, she picked up her bag. "I know. It's just going into the lions den with you two." Looking down, she looked towards the door. "We probbaly shouldn't keep anyone waiting any longer." She was hurt right now-from Betty and now this. It muddleded things up. Throwing her bag over her shoulder, she walked forward and headed out.

Daniel felt bad about what he said. Perhaps he did over react a bit to Alec. After all, he had never had a girlfriend before, he couldn't help but feel a little treatened. First Haven and now Bella, it seems as though he can't go five minutes with upseting a girl he cares for. He needed some time to think. He headed off to the engine room. He always felt calm and at peace in there.
